"I wholly endorse Julie's comments about prevention of abuse through appropriate education and raising awareness. The picture of an abuser as a 'monster' is, for the most part, a fallacy. We need to be aware that abuse is generally carried out by ordinary people in ordinary lives. Most are in a position of trust and/or authority and hide behind their 'cloak of respectability' to satisfy their inappropriate desires. Perhaps the charge should be psychological murder of the 'child self' and abusers, by virtue of forcibly and physically infringing the Human Rights of a child, should render themselves outside the protection of the Human Rights Act. "
